I’m not sure what I should book in?
We have a lot of treatments to offer that can be customised and tailored to your specific skin goals. This can be quite overwhelming, especially if you’re only just starting your skin journey with us. We recommend booking in a consultation first followed by our “Let Us Choose” option. In your consultation, we will go over a treatment plan and skin care routine tailored specifically to you and your skin needs and goals
When can I expect to see results?
There are no two skins that are the same so each skin must be approached in their own unique way. Typically speaking, you will start to see small results within a week such as smoother complexation and hydration levels increased. Some skins and concerns will be more severe than others which in term will take longer to see results. Remember, perfection isn’t made overnight and as long as you are following your skincare routine and in clinic treatment plans you’re on the right track to reaching your skin goals.
What products do you stock/recommend?
Here at Bare Face Skin Clinic, we pride ourselves on RESULTS! We have tried and tested many skincare products on the market and feel nothing compares to O Cosmedics. O Cosmedics is a medical strength skincare range that uses functional actives that triggers cell optimisation and normal skin function, supports skin health, youth and confidence and is Australian made and owned as well as being cruelty free, gluten and vegan friendly. O Cosmedics was designed to treat the 5 major causes on aging; Collagen breakdown, photo defence, glycation, oxidation and inflammation.
Is it normal for my skin to breakout or get a bit dry following my treatment or after using my new products?
Yes. When we start using an active skincare range you may experience some breakouts and/or dryness. Do not worry. The breakouts will occur due to something called purging. Purging is when you have something underlying in the skin and all this is doing is bringing it up and out. This is what we want and this phase will pass and you will thank me for it later. The dryness is due to the dead cell material that is lifting off the skin and this will normalise as your skin gets use to the actives.
Can I still get treatments if I am breastfeeding or pregnant?
Yes! Your body is going through so many changes during pregnancy as well as having A LOT of hormones jumping around. We have a wide range of safe treatments and products available in clinic. However, we recommend no laser or LED treatments whilst pregnant or breastfeeding. We also stop all use of topical Vitamin A for our clients during this period.
How soon should I come in before my wedding?
If you’re looking at having flawless skin for your wedding then the answer is as soon as possible! We want to ensure we do everything we can so you can look your absolute BEST on your special day.
Can I still get treatments if I’m on Roaccutane?
Yes, you can. Unfortunately, this will prevent you from undergoing some treatments but we can certainly assist and work around that. We ask that if you are thinking about going onto Roaccutane or any other medication changes that you advise your therapist so we can adjust your skincare routine and treatment plan accordingly.
Can I still have injectables?
Absolutely. However, you will need to wait 2 weeks after any injectable treatment before booking in any of our skin treatments. You need to wait for the product to settle.
What is the difference between cosmedical skincare such as O Cosmedics and products I can buy at the shops?
To put it simple, it’s the ingredients in the products and the strengths that will determine the difference between cosmedical skincare and products you can buy at the shops or cosmetics.
Cosmedical skincare products, such as O Cosmedics, contain the following;
- Active ingredients that have been designed and proven to penetrate the skin
- Free from parabens, petrochemicals and toxic ingredients that could lead to more cellular mutations in the future.
- Are able to penetrate the epidermis, meaning that they are then able to target specific cells to create a cellular change for the better.
Shop bought skincare will not be able to penetrate the skin, meaning it is unable to target the cells and make a cellular change and often contain fragrances, irritants, toxins and other stuff that will not do your skin any good.
Do I need to wear sun protection all the time or just when it’s sunny?
YES YES YES! If you’re not already using a sunscreen I highly recommend getting on board! You need to be wearing sunscreen everyday regardless if its rain, hail or shine due to the UVA, UVB and UVC. Sun protection will help to avoid things like collagen breakdown as well as hyperpigmentation.
What’s the best treatments for men?
Every skin is different and is treated uniquely. At Bare Face Skin Clinic, we have A LOT of men ranging from 14 years old to mid 60’s with all different skin concerns and goals. It’s always a good idea to start off small and build up as you get more comfortable and as your skin changes. Start off with a good quality cleanser and moisturizer.
It’s very important for everyone to clean their skin morning and night. This is to help remove bacteria, toxins, pollution and dirt that may be sitting on the skins surface. Next you will want to moisturise the skin. We have a couple available in clinic and will determine the right one specific for you and your skins needs.
Lastly, as it goes without saying, an SPF! The sun plays a major part in most skin concerns and can be very damaging to your skin. Men tend to have more facial hair to deal with along with their skin being a little more thicker so using a good quality exfoliator will make a huge difference as you don’t want dead skin cells hanging around and harshing your skin! We always recommend coming in for a consultation to go over your skin concerns and then we can determine the best treatments and at home skincare routine to provide you with the best results possible.
Can I wear makeup before or after my treatment?
It’s up to you if you’d like to come with or without makeup as we make sure to give the skin a good double cleanse before starting any treatment. Mineral makeup is perfect to use following any treatment, however, we do recommend waiting at least 12 hours post skin needling before putting any makeup onto the skin for best results.
Do I need to prepare my skin before my treatment?
Most skin treatments don’t require any preparation, however, our stronger treatments do require a bit of preparation in order to get the most out of these treatments and get the best results possible.
Skin needling and some of our stronger peels require your skin to be prepped on the following; Vitamin A (Retinol), Vitamin B (Niacinamide) and Vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid). It’s best that these products are at a medical grade strength (available in our O Cosmedics skincare range) and are used 2-4 weeks prior to your treatment.
We ask our clients to incorporate these ingredients into their skincare as they work to ensure the skin barrier is operating at a healthy state to ensure healthy new cells are regenerated instead of the same old dysfunctional cells your skin would have been producing beforehand.
Can I bring someone to my appointment?
It’s always best to try and come to your appointment alone so we can focus solely on you and your skin concerns and goals. However, if you wish to bring one person as support please just let us know prior to the appointment as some treatments will not permit this. The same goes with young children. It’s always best to come alone however I know this isn’t the case all the time as life happens. Children are more than welcome to come but please make sure they are kept occupied and notify the clinic well before the appointment time if you wish to do so as some treatments will not permit this.
Do you do group bookings?
Yes we do. We have two treatment rooms available. For group bookings please get in contact with us as our booking system does not allow for this yet.
